bio
I’ve lived my entire life in Central Arkansas. Give or take a year or two in Eastern Arkansas. That’s not as bad as it sounds. Arkansas is a beautiful State. The Natural State. We are the only State in the Union that could become an island and be self-sufficent, we have all the requisite natural resources. The people here are amazing. And my generation is generally forward thinking and tech-savvy.

I currently live in Conway, AR with my wonderful and amazing spouse, Tricia. We have 3 incredible boys that bring wonder and joy… and frustration. We have a great dog.

I am committed, loyal, and passionate.

what I do
I am the Web Services Manager at The Public Libraries. That’s a part-time gig, but a full-time passion. I’ve been connected to the Library for over a decade and this is my current role in a career of public service. Empowering people to find information, tell me what could be better?

I am the Weekend Warrior, a TSS at EllisLab. I provide support to the ExpressionEngine user community. This was a position I sought for a long time, and finally there was a way to make it work. In this role, I get to connect with awesome people doing awesome things. Both within the company and the user community.

Seperate but equal, I am a freelance web developer. I operate through dan decker development. If you need those services, hit me up.

This arrangement may sound disjointed. Non-traditional, for sure. But I love what I do and I’m good at it. Are you? If not, why not?

what I’ve done
I have always worked in service. As a teenager at the grocery store. Except for that time I worked as a DJ at my local radio station, that was just a hoot. In the concession stand and box office at the movie theatre. My time with the Library. My stint with Dillard’s. My time at AETN. Serving customers. Serving the public. Helping people, directly or indirectly. I really like to help people.

what I like
I am an unashamed Apple fanatic. Either you get it, or you don’t, I won’t argue you. I love to use and work with ExpressionEngine and Codeignter. Again, I won’t argue with you, but I will frown in your general direction if you mention Wordpress. I code html and CSS by hand.

I like watching sci-fi on TV and at the cinema. Not a big fan of sit-coms, traditional drama, and the like. I have some reality TV “dirty-little-secrets”.

I love to learn new things.
